Solo Car Free Day (Solo CFD)

Car Free Day is one of many efforts to decrease air pollution levels caused by vehicle fuel emissions. It is also aimed at increasing the quality of the environment. Therefore, Local Government of Surakarta limits the use of vehicle and adds space for pedestrian. Surakarta Government also creating more space for green area in the city.

Solo Car Free Day (SCFD) is held every Sunday at 5 AM until 9 AM.

It is located on Jl. Slamet Riyadi (Purwosari – Gladak) and Jl. Diponegoro (Pasar Pon – Mangkunegaran). 

SCFD is divided into four areas, namely : 

1. Sport area (Purwosari – Sriwedari) 
2. Education area (Maladi Stadium – Pasar Pon) 
3. Art and culture (Pasar Pon – Ngarsopuro – Nonongan) 
4. Entertainment area (Nonongan – Gladak) 

Solo Car Free Day (SCFD) is one of the pioneers of the number one car free day inCentral Java province and the hitherto existing CFD longest in Indonesia.
